King Eider is a rare vagrant in north-western Ireland. Two immature birds were found in Drumcliff bay, Co. Sligo, Ireland on the 3rd January 2009 by Paul Keogh. This bird, and the accompanying first-winter drake have been feeding well despite the close attentions of a Great Black-backed Gull
